Best Views:

  • Broadbottom Viaduct: An increedibly tall viaduct that spans a steep ravine, that creates a striking landscape.
  • Broadbottom Mills: An old mill sits at the bottom of Broadbottom by the river. It has a small trail around it which walks you through the area's rich industrial heritage. It's quite an interesting stop for anyone in the area.
  • Etherow Country Park: A large country park south of Broadbottom which is a beautiful area to explore
  • Ardotalia Roman Fort: An ancient ruin that was excavated, it is one for the history nerds, that provides good views of the whole valley below.
  • Abandoned Railway: A bridleway running along the railway towards Glossop traces old rail lines that are still there in places, grown over by trees and vegetation. A nice, easy path that lets people explore the native area.

Amenities:

  • Toilets: Public toilets aren't around in Broadbottom, but there are in the nearby pub and garden centre.
  • Food: The nearby Lymefield Garden Centre has a tearoom and the Harewood Arms serves food.
  • Parking Facilities: You can park here. Not sure what else to say for this one.
